Mike Toomey Texas Lobbyist Update: HBJ 11
House Joint Resolution No. 11 would amend the present state constitution by placing a limit on the uses of revenue from motor vehicle registration fees, taxes on lubricants and motor fuels, and further specified federal government revenue. This proposed amendment will be submitted to state voters in time for the November 5th 2013 election. One fourth of total revenue earned from the motor fuel tax will be given to the Available School Fund if the revenue is not less than the maximum amounts allowed to be kept by each individual county. This resolution was first filed in March of 2011, and has since been read in the House. We will see if it’s passed or not in the 2013 election.
