Mike Toomey Lobbyist News Update: Henderson County Sheriff Conducts Child Support Roundup
Early in November 2013, multiple law enforcement officers in Henderson County arrested 10 parents living within the county who had failed to obey court orders requiring that they immediately pay their child support. This roundup began in October, and a total of 19 parents violating these court orders have been arrested since then. These parents face up to six months in jail. Henderson County has issued warning to parents with delinquent payments asking them to pay their fees to avoid arrest.
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott said. “By collecting child support, we are ensuring young Texans have the resources they need to grow healthy and strong. We are grateful to Sheriff Ray Nutt, the constables and the local police departments that joined this effort for their unfailing commitment to Texas children.”
